Tommy B. Kin Chong was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
Tommy began his entertainment career as a musician in a Canadian-based rhythm and blues band. Eventually, he landed a gig with the βVancouversββ and co-wrote the bandβs 1960βs hit, βDoes Your Mama Know About Meβ.
From there, Chong eventually turned his life towards acting. The first step was forming βCity Works,β an improvisational group where he consequently met his future comedic partner, Richard βCheechβ Marin.
Throughout the 1970βs Cheech & Chong earned a massive following until eventually, the duo had run its lengthy and prosperous course and they both embarked on solo careers.
You may know Tommy Chong as a musician, comedian, actor, and activist but his incredible journey from humble beginnings to Hollywood royalty exposes a spiritual and family-focused depth you may not expect.
In this special episode of Cultivate, host Drew Emmer shares an intimate and engaging conversation with Chong covering everything from his rock and roll roots to his experiences with cannabis as a plant medicine. You wonβt want to miss this fascinating story told by the legend himself.
